The upcoming anime adaptation of Ippei Nara’s fantasy manga, The Daily Life of a Single 29-Year-Old Adventurer (Japanese: 29-sai Dokushin Chūken Bōkensha no Nichijō), has announced the addition of Haruka Shiraishi and Yasunori Matsumoto to its growing cast. The acclaimed voice actors will portray the father-daughter duo, Cocko and Cockdole, expanding the ensemble for the highly anticipated January 2026 premiere.
The announcement reveals Haruka Shiraishi will voice Cocko, a chicken beast girl with aspirations of becoming a scholar, while Yasunori Matsumoto will take on the role of her father, Cockdole. This casting adds further depth to the anime’s portrayal of the diverse characters encountered by the protagonist, Hajime Shinonome.

The series centers on Hajime Shinonome, a seasoned adventurer in his late twenties, who has carved out a peaceful existence in Komai Village after a challenging childhood in the slums. Abandoned and alone, Lirui’s plight resonates with Hajime, leading him to take her under his wing and bring her back to live with him in the village. Prior to this latest announcement, a significant portion of the main cast had already been revealed. Makoto Furukawa leads as the protagonist, Hajime Shinonome, the kind-hearted adventurer at the story’s core. Sayumi Suzushiro joins him as Lirui, the mysterious young girl Hajime rescues.
Other notable cast members include Shizuka Ito as Veronica Bali, an ancient succubus and acquaintance from Hajime’s past who runs a unique shop, and Yuki Kuwahara as Anyango, a skilled dwarf girl and Lirui’s loyal friend. Tomohiro Ono voices Rishat, Veronica’s servant. Yuna Ogata and Kaori Maeda are also part of the cast, voicing Olive Carmen and Natalie, respectively.

The anime adaptation is being produced by Studio Hornets. Riki Fukushima is at the helm as director and is also handling the series composition, ensuring a faithful adaptation of Nara’s original work. Character designs are being handled by Yoshihiro Nagamori. The musical score is a collaborative effort by Akinari Suzuki, Johannes Nilsson, and Manami Takamoto. Pony Canyon is responsible for the music production.
The opening theme song, “Kimi ga Tomoshite Kureta Hikari o Ima” (The Light You Lit For Me Now), will be performed by HoneyWorks featuring Hanon. HoneyWorks will also perform the ending theme song, “Kimi no Tonari wa Kūki ga Oishii” (The Air Next to You Tastes Delicious), featuring Kotoha.
