Japanese publisher AlphaPolis has announced its entry into the English print manga market, with its first physical volumes set to release in June 2026. The company, known for its digital-first approach through the Alpha Manga service, aims to broaden its reach and deliver its popular titles to a wider audience of physical manga collectors.
This strategic move will see the initial release of three volumes from three different manga series, with subsequent volumes planned for later in the year.
Expanding Reach: From Digital to Physical
AlphaPolis, established in 2000, has primarily focused on publishing light novels and manga, particularly for online readers. The company has successfully cultivated a strong digital presence, with its Alpha Manga app, launched in August 2021, providing access to its extensive library on mobile devices. Many of its titles have also been made available through Crunchyroll, further extending their digital footprint.
The transition to physical print editions signifies AlphaPolis’s ambition to tap into the robust and growing Western manga market, which continues to show a strong preference for tangible copies. This expansion is expected to allow AlphaPolis “to reach a wider audience and bring even more enjoyment to [its] readers,” according to a statement given to ANN.
Initial Lineup of English Print Titles
The first wave of English print manga from AlphaPolis will arrive on June 9, 2026, featuring the debut volumes of three distinct series. These include:
May I Ask for One Final Thing?
This fantasy manga, based on an original web novel by Nana Ōtori and illustrated by Sora Hoonoki, tells the story of Scarlet, a falsely accused “Villainess” seeking revenge after her engagement is abruptly called off. The series, which launched on the AlphaPolis website in June 2019, has already seen its 12th digital compiled book volume released in Japan and is inspiring a currently airing television anime adaptation.
Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time
Further details about this title’s specific plot were not immediately available, but it is a known manga title from AlphaPolis.
A Gatherer’s Adventure in Isekai
This manga is another title being brought to print. As the name suggests, it is likely an “isekai” (other world) fantasy, a genre in which AlphaPolis specializes.
Following the initial release, the second volumes for these three series are slated for August 4, 2026, with the third volumes to follow on October 6, 2026. AlphaPolis has indicated that further announcements regarding future releases will be made as they are decided.
AlphaPolis’s Unique Content Model
AlphaPolis has garnered recognition for its distinctive content generation model, which leverages a user-generated content (UGC) platform to identify successful web novels and manga series. This approach allows the company to source and adapt popular online content into published books and, subsequently, anime adaptations, boasting a high success rate compared to traditional publishing methods. Noteworthy titles from AlphaPolis’s portfolio that have received anime adaptations include Gate, Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy, and A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life.
The company’s business model is described as capital-light and scalable, with manga sales accounting for a significant portion of its revenue. By bringing its popular digital manga to the English print market, AlphaPolis is strategically positioning itself to further monetize its intellectual property and expand its global footprint within the lucrative manga and anime industries.
