The popular mascot character Hoppe-chan is officially set to receive a television anime adaptation titled Hoppe-chan ~Sun Ookoku to Kuro Hoppe-dan no Himitsu~ (“Hoppe-chan ~Mystery of the Sun Kingdom and the Black Hoppe Team~”), with a premiere slated for 2026. While previous announcements detailed the initial cast and production team, current information indicates a 2026 launch rather than a specific January debut, and details on an opening song artist have yet to be revealed.
The anime, based on Sun Jewelry’s original character, was confirmed in August 2025, unveiling key visual and preliminary details about the staff and voice cast.
Hoppe-chan’s Enchanting Premise
Hoppe-chan ~Sun Ookoku to Kuro Hoppe-dan no Himitsu~ is set to weave a dual narrative across two distinct worlds. One storyline unfolds in the “Sun Kingdom,” a realm crafted entirely from “cuteness.” Here, Ganso Hoppe-chan, a lost character suffering from amnesia, emerges. Her journey involves joining the “Guardians” to protect the kingdom from “toxic Hoppe-chan creatures” that seek to create an “uncute place.”
Parallel to this, in the real world, an office worker named Hoho finds herself grappling with declining self-esteem and a sense of being lost in her professional and personal life. The series promises to show how the paths of Ganso Hoppe-chan and Hoho intersect, bridging their separate stories in a “parallel fantasy comedy.”
