The popular manga series Tengen Hero Wars (Tengen Eiyū Taisen), written by Yasu Hiromoto and illustrated by Kubaru Sakanoichi, is set to conclude with its tenth compiled book volume. The final volume is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026, as revealed in the ninth volume, which shipped on November 20.
A Look Back at the Tengen Hero Wars Journey
Tengen Hero Wars began its serialization in Coamix’s Monthly Comic Zenon magazine in October 2021. The series quickly garnered attention for its unique blend of epic, historical, and isekai genres, drawing readers into a world where legendary historical figures clash in strategic battles. Yasu Hiromoto, also a screenwriter, penned the story, while Kubaru Sakanoichi provided the illustrations.
The narrative centers around a history-obsessed high school student named Oda Nobunaga. He and his sister are mysteriously transported to a parallel world where the greatest warriors from history, including figures like Napoleon, Julius Caesar, Zhuge Liang, Hannibal, and the original Oda Nobunaga, are gathered to compete for supremacy. The protagonist, the modern-day Oda Nobunaga, becomes a strategist for his historical namesake, navigating treacherous alliances and high-stakes conflicts.
The Road to the Final Volume
As of November 20, 2025, nine tankōbon volumes of Tengen Hero Wars have been released in Japan. The manga has been praised for its epic battles, strategic depth, and engaging characters, with some critics likening its style to Record of Ragnarok and its battles to the Kingdom series.
International audiences have also embraced the series. Titan Manga acquired the license for English release in July 2023, with the second English volume published in June 2024. The manga is also available digitally via Coamix and Imagineer’s MangaHot app and website. Readers in France and Spain can access the series through Mangetsu and Editorial Ivrea, respectively.
