Fans of the dark fantasy anime Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku can mark their calendars, as Season 2 is officially set to premiere on January 11, 2026. The highly anticipated continuation of Gabimaru the Hollow’s perilous quest was announced with new visuals and confirmed streaming details.
The new season will air in Japan every Sunday at 11:45 PM, starting January 11, 2026. International audiences will be able to stream the series on Crunchyroll, with a simultaneous broadcast outside of Asia. Netflix will also stream the series in Asia-Pacific regions.
What to Expect from Hell’s Paradise Season 2
The second season of Hell’s Paradise will continue the gripping narrative based on Yuji Kaku’s popular manga. The story follows Gabimaru, a formidable ninja on death row, and his executioner, Yamada Asaemon Sagiri, as they venture to a mysterious and deadly island to find the Elixir of Life, hoping to earn a pardon.
Season 1 left off with significant revelations, deepening the mysteries of the island and Gabimaru’s past. The upcoming season is expected to adapt the manga’s “Lord Tensen” and “Hōrai” story arcs, diving further into the supernatural horrors and intense battles against the enigmatic Tensen. Accompanying the release date announcement, Studio MAPPA, the animation studio behind the series, unveiled a main visual and additional character visuals. The main visual brings together eleven central characters, including Gabimaru, Sagiri, and Yuzuriha, observed from above by the enigmatic Rien of the Lord Tensen. This artwork hints at the fierce confrontations awaiting the cast.
Furthermore, new character visuals have been revealed for figures who will make their debut on the island in Season 2. These include Yamada Asaemon Shugen, voiced by Ryota Suzuki, as well as Jikka, Kiyomaru, and Isuzu, voiced by Koji Yusa, Maaya Uchida, and Sayaka Ohara, respectively. These new additions are expected to significantly impact the unfolding narrative.
Returning Cast and Production Team
The core production staff and beloved voice cast from the first season are reprising their roles for Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Season 2. Kaori Makita returns as director, with Akira Kindaichi once again handling the series script. Akitsugu Hisagi is back as the character designer, and Yoshiaki Dewa will compose the music.
The returning voice cast includes Chiaki Kobayashi as Gabimaru, Yumiri Hanamori as Yamada Asaemon Sagiri, Kensho Ono as Toma Asaemon Yamada, Rie Takahashi as Yuzuriha, Ryohei Kimura as Chobe Aza, and Tetsu Inada as Gantetsusai Tamiya. Mamiko Noto will also return as Yui, Gabimaru’s wife.
