Diving into the Promo Video and Theme Songs
The recently released promotional video provided a deeper look at the anime’s animation style and introduced the voices of key characters. It also confirmed that the rock band UNISON SQUARE GARDEN will perform both the opening and ending theme songs for the series. The opening track is titled “Uruwashi,” while the ending theme is “Azalea no Kaze.” These musical selections are expected to complement the anime’s romantic and introspective tone.
The Story of Two “Princes” Unfolds
“In the Clear Moonlit Dusk” centers on Yoi Takiguchi, a first-year high school student whose tall stature, deep voice, and handsome appearance often lead to her being mistaken for a boy. Affectionately nicknamed “Prince” by her peers, Yoi has largely accepted this aspect of her life, feeling that feminine things don’t suit her.
Her world, however, shifts upon meeting Kohaku Ichimura, a charismatic second-year student who also holds the “Prince” title due to his good looks and rumored wealthy background. Unlike others, Kohaku seems to notice a side of Yoi that goes beyond her princely façade. Their unexpected connection leads them to explore a “test” relationship, with the story following their journey as they slowly reveal their true selves to one another. The manga, by Mika Yamamori, began serialization in Dessert in July 2020 and has garnered critical acclaim and nominations for various manga awards. Kodansha USA is publishing the manga in English.
