The Story of Du, the Overly Kind Demon Princess
The anime adapts Yuya Sakamoto’s manga, which was originally serialized from 2019 to 2021 before returning in 2023 due to strong fan reception. The story centers on Du, the daughter of the Demon King Ahriman. Despite her lineage, Du possesses an overwhelming kindness that can soothe even the most heinous demons, violent monsters, and sworn enemies like angels.
Her boundless compassion becomes a source of concern for her father, the Demon King, who finds himself too preoccupied with her well-being to continue his conquest of the world. Ahriman’s retainer, Jahi, takes it upon himself to mold Du into a proper demon through various trials. However, these efforts often backfire, only deepening Du’s inherent kindness and creating small ripples of warmth in a world that is far from kind. The seventh volume of the manga is scheduled for release in Japan on December 25, 2025.
