A new teaser video for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Yuki Domoto’s romantic comedy manga, “I Want to End This Love Game” (Aishiteru Game o Owarasetai), has been released today, offering a glimpse at the series’ two main protagonists and their voice actors. The teaser showcases the playful yet complicated dynamic between childhood friends Yukiya Asagi and Miku Sakura, whose long-running “love game” forms the core of the story.
The anime is slated to premiere in April 2026.
Previewing the Main Duo and Their Voice Talent
The newly unveiled teaser video provides fans with their first auditory and visual introduction to the central characters of “I Want to End This Love Game.”
Yukiya Asagi (Voiced by Kaito Ishikawa)
Kaito Ishikawa, known for his roles such as Jin in DAN DA DAN, lends his voice to Yukiya Asagi, the male protagonist. Yukiya is Miku’s childhood friend, and while he harbors feelings for her, he often finds himself frustrated by constantly losing their titular “love game.” The manga describes Yukiya as having undergone a “glow-up” in high school, aiming to charm Miku, though he is internally an introvert who struggles to talk to other girls normally, except for Miku. His attempts to make Miku’s heart race, often inspired by shojo manga tactics, are central to the series’ humor and romance.
Miku Sakura (Voiced by Miku Ito)
Miku Ito, recognized for her portrayal of Miku in The Quintessential Quintuplets, voices the female lead, Miku Sakura. Miku is Yukiya’s childhood friend who has secretly held feelings for him since they were young. She enjoys teasing him through their “love game,” where the objective is to make the other person blush by saying “I love you.” Despite her playful demeanor, she too gets flustered and desires for the game to eventually lead to a genuine confession, fearing that its end might lead them to drift apart.
The Enduring “Love Game”
The premise of “I Want to End This Love Game” revolves around Yukiya and Miku’s unique competition, which began in sixth grade. They challenge each other to say “I love you,” with the first one to get flustered being declared the loser. Four years later, the game continues into their high school lives, with both secretly developing deeper feelings for one another but fearing to confess directly. The teaser hints at this dynamic, showing moments where their casual declarations of love take on increasing emotional weight.
