Happinet officially announced on Thursday that acclaimed voice actresses Saori Hayami and Sumire Uesaka will be lending their talents to “A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace”. Hayami will portray Yuzuki Hazama, the best friend of protagonist Futami since their school days. Uesaka is cast as Nagomi Hayachine, a colleague of Futami’s from her time as an assistant. These additions further enrich an already impressive roster of voice talent for the series.
October 6 Premiere Across Multiple Channels
Fans can mark their calendars for October 6, 2025, as the official debut date for the anime. The series will begin airing on the AT-X channel at 9:30 p.m. JST, followed by Tokyo MX at 10:00 p.m. JST, and BS Asahi at 11:24 p.m. JST. Iwate Menkoi TV will also broadcast the anime starting on October 12. This multi-channel release ensures broad accessibility for viewers in Japan.
Diving into the Mangaka’s World: What to Expect
“A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace” centers on Nana Futami, a rookie shojo manga artist navigating the unique challenges of the entertainment industry. Despite experiencing “intense daydream delusions” (which she attributes to occupational illness), Futami perseveres with the support of her female editor, Kaede Satō, and her assistant, Mizuki Hazama. The series, adapted from Kuzushiro’s manga, which began its serialization in Kodansha’s Comic Days app and website in May 2019 after a one-shot in Kiss magazine in February 2019, promises a working-girl comedy filled with relatable struggles and humor.

The anime is being directed by Kaoru Suzuki, known for his work on “DIVE!!” and “My Roommate is a Cat,” at Studio Voil. Mio Inoue, who worked on “My Awkward Senpai” and “Slow Start,” is handling the series scripts, while Kana Miyai is responsible for character designs. The musical score is being composed by Kei Haneoka and Hironori Doi.
