The official website and social media channels for the upcoming anime adaptation of A Tale of the Secret Saint (Tensei Shita Daiseijo wa, Seijo de Aru Koto wo Hitakakusu) have revealed new cast members and confirmed an April 2026 premiere date for the highly anticipated series. This latest announcement builds on previous details, further setting the stage for the fantasy adventure.
New Voice Actors Join the Ranks
Three additional voice actors have been added to the cast, bringing more beloved characters to life. Tasuku Hatanaka, known for his role as Reki in SK8 the Infinity, will voice Desmond Ronan. Daiki Hamano, who played Kyros in Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex, is cast as Zachary Townsend. Finally, Tomokazu Sugita, recognized as Sasaki in Sasaki and Peeps, will portray Quentin Agutter.
These new additions join a previously announced main cast that includes:

- Zavalia: voiced by Shinnosuke Tokudome
- Saviz Nabu: voiced by Yuichiro Umehara
- Cyril Sutherland: voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki
Creative Team and Animation Studio
The anime adaptation is being produced by Felix Film, with Tomoe Makino (known for Aharen-san wa Hakarenai) serving as director. Naoki Murata is the assistant director. Deko Akao (Komi Can’t Communicate, Flying Witch) is overseeing the series scripts, while Satomi Kurita (Dahlia in Bloom) is responsible for character designs. The music is being composed by Kenichiro Suehiro (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- franchises), and Ryosuke Naya is the sound director.
What is A Tale of the Secret Saint About?
The series follows Fia, a young woman born into a lineage of knights who dreams of becoming one herself, despite lacking natural talent in swordsmanship. A near-death experience, however, triggers memories of her past life as a powerful Saint from a bygone era—a woman who once defeated the Demon King with potent healing and protection magic.
Fia remembers the tragic end of her past life and a ominous threat that if she were reborn as a Saint, she would be found and killed. Determined to avoid a similar fate, she vows to keep her powerful abilities a secret and continue her path as a knight. However, her inherent compassion often leads her to use her Saintly powers in moments of crisis, making it increasingly difficult to conceal her true identity. The story blends action, fantasy, and comedy as Fia navigates her desire to be a knight and the destiny that constantly pulls her back toward being a Saint.
Light Novel and Manga Background
A Tale of the Secret Saint originated as a light novel series written by Touya and illustrated by chibi, first serialized on the user-generated novel publishing site Shōsetsuka ni Narō in January 2019. Earth Star Entertainment later acquired and began publishing the series. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Mahito Aobe, has also been serialized on Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star manga website since December 2019. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the official English versions of both the light novel and manga adaptation. The series, including its prequel A Tale of the Secret Saint ZERO, boasts over 3.5 million copies in circulation.
