The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Firehead and YahaKo’s “A Wild Last Boss Appeared!” (Yasei no Rasu Bosu ga Arawareta!) light novel series is officially set to debut on October 4, 2025, accompanied by the announcement of a video game adaptation titled “A Wild Last Boss Appeared! ~Black-Winged Survivor~,” which will include an English release. The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX at 10:30 p.m. JST, with subsequent broadcasts on BS Asahi and Kansai TV on October 5.

Anime Series Unleashes the Black-Winged Tyrant
The television anime, produced by Wao World with general production by WOWMAX, will bring the story of Lufas Maphaahl to screens this fall. Yūya Horiuchi is directing the series, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling series composition and Maiko Ebisawa designing the characters. The narrative of “A Wild Last Boss Appeared!” follows a man who inexplicably wakes up in the body of his overpowered MMO character, Ruphas Mafahl, 200 years after her supposed defeat. Known as the “Black-Winged Tyrant,” Ruphas was once the formidable leader of the Twelve Heavenly Stars in the game “Exgate Online.” Now, finding himself in a world where the game has become reality, he embarks on a journey to reunite his scattered subordinates and uncover the mysteries of this transformed realm, all while contending with the fear and infamy his character once commanded.
The original light novel series, written by Firehead and illustrated by YahaKo, was initially serialized on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō before being acquired by Earth Star Entertainment.
