Two prominent figures in the manga industry, Rin Suzukawa, known for the popular Asobi Asobase series, and prolific writer Jun Esaka, recognized for his work on One Piece and Naruto novels, are set to debut new manga titles on Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app in January. Suzukawa’s new full-color comedy series will launch on January 4, followed by Esaka’s corporate drama on January 11.
Rin Suzukawa Unveils “Galaxy Pū-chan: Hello from the Edge of the Universe”
Manga creator Rin Suzukawa will introduce Galaxy Pū-chan Uchū no Hajikko de Konnichiwa (Galaxy Pū-chan: Hello from the Edge of the Universe), a new full-color manga, starting January 4. The series is described by Manga ONE as a “new dimension of absurd sci-fi comedy,” a genre familiar to fans of Suzukawa’s previous work.
Suzukawa gained widespread recognition for Asobi Asobase (Play and Let Play), a surreal gag comedy that originally launched in 2015 and concluded in November 2022. The manga, which centered on three high school classmates and their unconventional “Pastimers Club,” received an anime adaptation in July 2018. Prior to this upcoming launch, Suzukawa also released the two-volume Outsider Paradise manga in Futabasha’s Manga Action magazine in 2023.
Jun Esaka and Kine Usuto Partner on “I Want to Quit! ~I’ll Reset for You~”
Writer Jun Esaka is collaborating with manga artist Kine Usuto (known for Fukushokushi Lucia wa Akiramenai: Kyō kara Hajimeru Kōfuku Keikaku) to release Yametai! ~Anata no Reset, Daikō Shimasu~ (I Want to Quit! ~I’ll Reset for You~) on January 11. Esaka is credited with the story, while Usuto is handling the art for this new corporate drama. The manga will focus on a “resignation agent” whose services promise to either lead clients to freedom or an unexpected new challenge.
Esaka is an accomplished writer with a diverse portfolio, particularly noted for novel adaptations of popular manga series. His previous works include One Piece novel HEROINES and Naruto: Sasuke’s Story–The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust. He also penned a novel adaptation of Kamome Shirahama’s Witch Hat Atelier manga, which shipped in November 2025. Esaka’s contributions extend to several Naruto light novels, including Sasuke Shinden: The Teacher’s Star Pupil and Kakashi Retsuden: The Sixth Hokage and the Failure Boy. In 2022, Esaka also launched the manga series She Is Beautiful with Takahide Totsuno.
Both new series will be available through Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app, offering readers fresh content from these respected creators early in the new year.
