The highly anticipated first film in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle trilogy has unveiled its latest trailer, confirming that acclaimed artists Aimer and LiSA will contribute the theme songs for the cinematic event. This revelation sets a powerful musical foundation for what is expected to be one of the most significant anime releases of the year, reigniting the excitement of fans worldwide.

The Anticipated Cinematic Event

Titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns, this film marks the beginning of a three-part series set to adapt the climactic Infinity Castle arc from Koyoharu Gotouge’s hugely popular manga. Unlike previous compilation films, the Infinity Castle saga is presented as full-length feature films, promising an expansive and faithful adaptation of the manga’s intense final battles.

The movie is scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 18, 2025. Following its domestic debut, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will facilitate a staggered global theatrical release, commencing in August 2025 for some Southeast Asian territories and arriving in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and India on September 12, 2025. The film will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub, catering to a diverse international audience. Ufotable, the studio renowned for its breathtaking animation, is once again at the helm, with Haruo Sotozaki directing.

The trailer itself offers a glimpse into the grave stakes of the Infinity Castle arc. It depicts Muzan Kibutsuji’s surprise assault on the Ubuyashiki Mansion, which plunges Tanjiro Kamado and the formidable Hashira into the enigmatic, shape-shifting stronghold of the demons. This sets the stage for the definitive confrontation between the Demon Slayer Corps and Muzan’s forces.

A Collaboration of Musical Titans

The announcement of Aimer and LiSA performing the theme songs has been met with immense enthusiasm, as both artists have a deep-rooted and celebrated history with the Demon Slayer franchise. Their previous contributions have become synonymous with the series’ emotional depth and high-octane action.

The Voices Behind the Themes

LiSA will perform the theme song “Shine in the Cruel Night” (Japanese title: “Zankoku no Yoru ni Kagayake”). Her connection to Demon Slayer began with the iconic opening theme “Gurenge” for the first season, a song that quickly became a cultural phenomenon. She further solidified her legacy with “Homura,” the award-winning main theme for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, and contributed “Akeboshi” and “Shirogane” to the TV anime adaptation of the Mugen Train Arc.

Aimer is set to perform “A World Where the Sun Never Rises” (Japanese title: “Taiyō ga Noboranai Sekai”). She made her powerful debut in the Demon Slayer soundscape with “Zankyou Sanka,” the explosive opening theme for the Entertainment District Arc, and also provided the ending theme “Asa ga Kuru” for the same arc. Both Aimer’s distinctive husky voice and LiSA’s powerful rock anthems have consistently elevated the series’ most poignant and thrilling moments.

Both new theme songs will be digitally released on July 18, 2025, coinciding with the film’s Japanese premiere, allowing fans to experience the music alongside the cinematic narrative. The return of these two beloved artists for the Infinity Castle films underscores the franchise’s commitment to delivering a grand and emotionally resonant conclusion, promising to deepen the connection between the audience and the epic final battle.
