Serialization Journey and International Licensing
Cat-Life Balance first launched in July 2024, appearing in Kodansha’s Morning two online magazine and on the Comic Days website. The manga quickly garnered attention for its unique blend of office romance and feline charm. For international readers, Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed the series, with the first compiled English volume scheduled for release on May 12, 2026.
A Tale of Work, Life, and Feline Friends
The story of Cat-Life Balance centers on Mamoru, an overly agreeable office worker dubbed the “Prince of the Office” due to his inability to say no to requests. His life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers a hidden side to his quiet colleague, Kurone: she joyfully interacts with stray cats in the park, a stark contrast to her stoic demeanor at work. This secret encounter sparks an unlikely relationship, prompting Mamoru to re-evaluate his work-life balance and explore deeper connections beyond his professional facade, all with the charming influence of his new “fluffy friends.”
