New Cast Members Join the Family
Two new voice actresses have been added to the anime’s roster. Rika Nagae and Hinaki Yano are joining the cast, with Hinaki Yano specifically confirmed to voice the character Neon. They will star alongside the previously announced main cast: Hika Tsukishiro as Alma, Ryōta Suzuki as Enji Kamisato, and M.A.O as Suzume Yobane. Hika Tsukishiro has expressed her excitement, stating she was “completely fascinated by the warm world and the cute characters” since receiving the audition materials. Ryota Suzuki, playing Enji, highlighted the heartwarming and sometimes funny aspects of the series as Alma, a girl-type weapon, and the two scientists gradually form a family.
ZAQ to Perform Opening Theme “Dramatic Overlay”
The main promotional video offered a first listen to the anime’s opening theme song, titled “Dramatic Overlay,” performed by ZAQ. This revelation adds another layer of anticipation for the upcoming series.
Returning Staff and Studio Details
The core production team for “Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family!” remains consistent with earlier announcements. Yasuhiro Minami (known for episode direction in Gintama) is directing the series at Studio Flad. Yukie Sugawara (The Vampire Dies in No Time, Overlord) is responsible for the series composition, and Mika Yamamoto (Fire Force sub-character designer) is handling the character designs. Studio Flad is overseeing the animation production.

“Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family!” centers on Alma, a high-performance, girl-type weapon created by two genius scientists, Enji Kamisato and Suzume Yobane. Despite their brilliance, Enji and Suzume constantly bicker, but Alma, an autonomous self-learning robot with advanced combat capabilities, observes a mutual affection between her creators. Alma recognizes Enji and Suzume as her “Father” and “Mother,” leading the three to embark on a unique journey to form a family and help Alma evolve into the ultimate robot.
