The popular anime series, “Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You,” is set to release its English dubbed version on Thursday, January 23rd, much to the delight of international fans. The announcement was made by Crunchyroll, the streaming platform that will host the dubbed episodes. This romantic comedy, based on the manga by Haruka Mitsui, has quickly gained attention for its engaging storyline and relatable characters.

Storyline and Setting

“Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You” is a coming-of-age story set in the year 2020. The series follows Mizuho Nishino, a high school student who is having a terrible 17th birthday. Her parents forget her birthday, and her crush isn’t interested in her. To make matters worse, a new infectious disease is causing event cancellations, disrupting her school life. Mizuho is disillusioned about her youth, but things take a turn when her childhood friend, Kizuki Hazawa, unexpectedly confesses his feelings for her. The series then explores how Mizuho navigates this sudden change in her relationship with Kizuki and her feelings about him as well as others. The story revolves around her and her four childhood friends, and is a tender exploration of youth, friendship and first love.

The anime begins with adult Mizuho reflecting on her youth and then transitions into the main storyline that follows her and her childhood friends.

Production and Release

The anime is produced by TYPHOON GRAPHICS, with Junichi Yamamoto as the director. The series composition is overseen by Yu Murai, while character designs are by Io Shiiba. The music is composed by Keiji Inai. The opening theme song, “Make it Count,” is performed by the group INI, and the ending theme song, “Negaigoto” (Wish), is performed by the rock band Marcy.

The anime series initially premiered in Japan on January 9, 2025, on TBS and BS11. The first episode of the series aired on January 10, 2025 at 1:28 am JST. It is also available for streaming on several platforms. The anime had an advance screening in Tokyo on November 17. Crunchyroll is streaming the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
