The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra: World Conquest Starts with the Civilization of Ruin officially premiered on July 6, 2025, bringing the unique strategy game-inspired isekai to screens across Japan and internationally. Produced by Maho Film, the series is based on Fehu Kazuno’s popular light novel series, which began serialization online in 2017.
A New Take on the Isekai Genre
Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra offers a distinct twist on the prevalent isekai genre, distinguishing itself by immersing its protagonist, Takuto Ira, into a world resembling a 4X strategy game rather than a typical MMORPG or dating sim. Takuto, a legendary top-ranked player of the fictional strategy game “Eternal Nations,” finds himself reborn as the ruler of Mynoghra, an “evil” civilization, after succumbing to illness in his previous life.
The narrative centers on Takuto’s efforts to establish and grow his new nation, Mynoghra, with the aid of his favorite in-game unit, the demonic retainer Atou. Unlike many isekai heroes, Takuto is depicted as a virtuous person who, despite being classified as “evil” by the world’s morality, prioritizes the well-being of his subjects. His primary goal is to build a peaceful settlement, though he is prepared to defend his domain against hostile human nations.
