The highly anticipated Attack on Titan finale compilation film, “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack,” has released an English-dubbed trailer, building excitement for its upcoming North American theatrical release. The film, a compilation of the final two episodes of the acclaimed anime series, is set to screen for one day only in the United States and Canada on February 10, 2025.

A Theatrical Experience for the Epic Finale

“Attack on Titan: The Last Attack” combines Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Parts 1 and 2 into a single, 145-minute cinematic experience. Originally released in Japanese theaters on November 8, 2024, the film quickly became a box office success. This compilation isn’t just a rehash of the final episodes, it has enhanced visuals, a 5.1 channel surround sound mix, and a new post-credit scene.

The movie will feature the theme song “Nisen-nen… Moshiku wa…. Niman-nen ato no Kimi e” by Linked Horizon, further enhancing the viewing experience for fans.

Global Release and English Dub

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment are distributing the film internationally. While the film will be available in Japanese with subtitles in various countries, the English dub version will also be screened in select regions, including the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

Here’s a breakdown of the international screening dates:

  • February 6: Australia, New Zealand

  • March 3: Italy

The English-dubbed trailer offers a sneak peek into the final battle of the series. For North American viewers, the movie will have both the original Japanese version with English subtitles and the English dubbed version.

The Story So Far

The Attack on Titan anime series, produced by MAPPA, covers the “Marley” and “War for Paradis” arcs from Hajime Isayama’s manga. The series follows Eren Yeager and his comrades in a world where humanity is on the brink of extinction due to giant humanoid creatures called Titans. The final season sees Eren, once a hero, become a controversial figure as he seeks to protect his homeland at any cost.

The anime series originally aired in four seasons consisting of 94 episodes. The final episodes, adapted into two one-hour specials, were initially released in Japan on March 4, and November 5, 2023. The English dub of the final episode premiered on Crunchyroll on January 7, 2024.

A Look Back at the Finale

The series finale of Attack on Titan brought a mix of emotions to fans. While some praised the ending for its emotional depth and conclusion to Eren’s journey, others have found it controversial. In the final chapter, Eren’s death is confirmed, and Mikasa mourns his loss. Despite the tragic elements, the ending reveals a three-year time skip, the destruction of the Titans, and the hope for peace as the characters strive to build a better world.

What to Expect

The compilation film, “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack,” aims to deliver the final arc of the story with enhanced impact and emotional resonance. The movie provides an opportunity to see the epic battles and dramatic moments on the big screen. It will also include a new post-credits scene, offering fans a fresh perspective on the series’ conclusion.

The synopsis for the film reads: “Humanity lived quietly behind massive walls built to protect themselves from the threat of monstrous creatures called Titans. Their century of peace was shattered by an attack on their city that left a young child, Eren Jaeger, motherless and vowing revenge on the titans.”

Fans can expect a powerful cinematic experience that encapsulates the themes, conflicts, and emotional core of the series. The movie aims to honor the original manga’s conclusion, as it explores themes of war, freedom, and the cycle of hatred.

Where to Watch

For those eager to catch the final chapter, “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack” will screen in North American theaters on February 10, 2025 for one day only. The film will be available in both the original Japanese with English subtitles and the English dub.

All episodes of the Attack on Titan anime series, including the final specials, are available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
