“Baban Baban Ban Vampire” Overview
“Baban Baban Ban Vampire” is a BL (Bloody Love Comedy) manga series by Hiromasa Okujima, which began serialization in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine in October 2021. The story revolves around Ranmaru Mori, a 450-year-old vampire who works part-time at an old public bath. He seeks the “ultimate taste” – the blood of an 18-year-old virgin – and thus diligently watches over 15-year-old Rihito Tatsuno, the son of the bathhouse owners, attempting to prevent him from losing his virginity. However, when Rihito falls in love, Ranmaru’s desperate schemes to protect Rihito’s “purity” begin.
The manga has already inspired a 12-episode TV anime adaptation, which aired from January to March 2025 and is streaming on Netflix. A live-action film adaptation also premiered in Japan on July 4, 2025, after an initial postponement.
