Warner Bros. Japan has revealed the main cast for the upcoming anime adaptation of Kumo Kagyu and so-bin’s Blade & Bastard light novel series, alongside a new trailer showcased at Anime Expo.
The announced main cast members and their respective voice actors are:
- Makoto Furukawa as Iarumas
- Tomori Kusunoki as Garbage
- Daiki Yamashita as Raraja
- Saori Hayami as Ainikki
- Shion Wakayama as Berkanan
The Blade & Bastard light novel series, written by Kumo Kagyu (Goblin Slayer) and illustrated by so-bin (Overlord), launched in December 2022. J-Novel Club publishes the novel series simultaneously with its Japanese release. The story follows Iarumas, an amnesiac adventurer who delves into a dungeon to retrieve the bodies of deceased adventurers, a task that earns him grudging respect but also scorn. His solitary existence changes when he encounters Garbage, a resilient swordswoman who is the sole survivor of a massacred party. Together, they journey deeper into the dungeon, seeking clues to Iarumas’s past while navigating perilous monsters and traps. The series is set in the world of the classic RPG Wizardry.
