Acclaimed voice actor Bryce Papenbrook will lend his voice to the character Kinta Sakata in the English dub of the second season of the popular anime series Dan Da Dan. The announcement was made by GKIDS during an English dub panel at Anime NYC on Saturday. A trailer featuring Papenbrook’s portrayal of Kinta Sakata has also been released.
Papenbrook’s Role as Kinta Sakata
Bryce Papenbrook, known for his diverse roles including Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan and Kirito in Sword Art Online, will be voicing Kinta Sakata, a new and “colorful” addition to the Dan Da Dan cast. Kinta is described as a less aspirational figure compared to some of Papenbrook’s previous leading roles. The character’s Japanese counterpart is voiced by Daichi Fujiwara.
Dan Da Dan Season 2: Continuing the Supernatural Saga
The second season of Dan Da Dan premiered on July 3, 2025, continuing the story of high schoolers Momo Ayase and Ken “Okarun” Takakura as they navigate a world filled with yokai and aliens. The series, produced by Science Saru, is co-directed by Fūga Yamashiro and Abel Góngora.

Dan Da Dan Season 2 is currently streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll and Netflix, with Hulu also offering the series in select locations, such as the United States. New episodes are released on Thursdays. The season is expected to consist of 12 episodes, with the finale anticipated around September 18, 2025.
Theatrical Release and Critical Reception
Prior to its television broadcast, the first three episodes of Dan Da Dan Season 2 were released theatrically outside of Japan under the title Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye. These screenings began on May 30 in Asia, June 6 in North America, and June 7 in Europe, earning a significant sum in its opening weekend in North America. The anime has garnered attention for its unique blend of action, romantic comedy, and supernatural thriller elements.
Fans can look forward to a “buck-wild final few episodes” as the season progresses towards a chaotic kaiju battle, along with the introduction of new characters and developing romantic tensions within Momo and Okarun’s circle.
