The upcoming TV anime “CITY THE ANIMATION,” based on the manga “CITY” by Keiichi Arawi, has announced that Jun Fukuyama will be joining the cast. Fukuyama, known for his roles in “Code Geass,” “Persona 5,” and “Assassination Classroom,” will be voicing Mitsutake Nobuaki, the leader of the theater company Tekaridake.

About “CITY THE ANIMATION”

“CITY THE ANIMATION” is based on the manga series “CITY” by Keiichi Arawi, who is also known for “Nichijou.” The manga was serialized in “Morning” magazine from 2016 to 2021 and depicts the lives of several unique individuals in an ordinary city, including Nagumo Mitori, a penniless college student, along with Nikura and Izumi Wako.

Kyoto Animation, the studio behind “Nichijou,” is producing “CITY THE ANIMATION.” This marks the studio’s first new anime production in approximately six years, excluding sequels, making it a highly anticipated release.

Jun Fukuyama as Mitsutake Nobuaki

Jun Fukuyama’s character, Mitsutake Nobuaki, leads the theater company Tekaridake. Fukuyama shared his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I’m Jun Fukuyama, the voice of Mitsutake. It’s difficult to put into words the energy of ‘CITY THE ANIMATION’, so I poured all of my overflowing passion and energy into Gekidan Tekaridake. You probably don’t understand what I’m saying. I understand. But for those people, yes! Just watch and you’ll understand! I hope you will all become a resident of ‘CITY’!!”
