Crunchyroll has announced the global streaming availability of Miru: Paths To My Future, the original anime series produced by industrial equipment manufacturer Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. The five-episode anthology series, which originally premiered in Japan in April 2025, is now available for viewers in various territories, with all episodes streaming on the platform.
The series, an eco-themed sci-fi anthology, marks an unusual venture into anime production for Yanmar, a company known for its diesel engines, agricultural machinery, and heavy equipment.
Yanmar’s Unique Foray into Anime Production
Yanmar’s involvement in Miru: Paths To My Future stems from its commitment to promoting a sustainable future and its “HANASAKA” principle, which emphasizes the potential of individuals and the embrace of new challenges. The company first announced its participation in the anime industry at Anime Expo 2023, where it showcased the Miru project. Akihiro Nagaya, Yanmar’s chief branding officer, stated that with Miru, the company aims to “inspire viewers and illustrate the profound connection between humans, machines, and nature,” aligning with global calls for sustainable living.
The anime features a weaponless robot named MIRU, designed by Yanmar’s own team, as a central character. This robot transcends time and space to support individuals facing various challenges, showcasing how small actions can lead to significant changes—a concept referred to as the “Butterfly Effect.” The core message of the anime is “The future is in our hands,” intended to inspire positive global impact.
