Crunchyroll has officially announced it will simulcast the second season of the popular shojo anime, Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You (Dōse, Koishite Shimaunda), beginning in January 2026. Prior to its broad release, fans will have an exclusive opportunity to catch the premiere of the first episode at Anime Frontier 2025, taking place in Fort Worth, Texas.
Anticipation Builds for ‘Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You’ Season 2
The announcement confirms the continuation of the anime adaptation of Haruka Mitsui’s beloved manga. The second season is highly anticipated, especially after its confirmation following the first season’s finale in March 2025. Director Junichi Yamamoto, who helmed the first season, is confirmed to return for the second, promising a consistent vision for the series. Studio TYPHOON GRAPHICS will once again be in charge of the animation.
The narrative of Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You centers on Mizuho Nishino, a high school student whose 17th birthday in 2020 turns her life upside down amidst a pandemic that cancels school events. Her world shifts further when her childhood friend, Kizuki, confesses his feelings, forcing Mizuho to confront her own emotions and the changing dynamics with her four childhood friends. The upcoming season is expected to delve deeper into these relationships, with the director stating that it will thoroughly depict the story all the way to its conclusion.
Cast and Crew Details
Key staff members returning include Yu Murai on series composition and Io Shiiba on character designs. Keiji Inai will compose the music. The main voice cast members are also reprising their roles, including Sakura Shinfuku as Mizuho Nishino and Kazuki Ura as Kizuki Hazawa. Additional cast includes Sion Yoshitaka as Shin Kashiwagi, Shōya Chiba as Airu Izumi, and Satoshi Inomata as Shūgo Hoshikawa. The opening theme song for the second season, “L to R,” will be performed by Me:I, while Berry Meet will perform the ending theme “Hatsukoi” (First Love).
Exclusive Premiere at Anime Frontier 2025
Crunchyroll is set to host a special premiere screening of the first episode of Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You Season 2 at Anime Frontier 2025. The event will take place at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Texas from December 12 to 14. The screening for Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You Season 2, Episode 1 is scheduled for December 14 at 12:30 p.m. CST. This offers attendees an early look at the highly anticipated season before its official streaming debut in January 2026 across various territories including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, India, and Southeast Asia.
Crunchyroll’s presence at Anime Frontier 2025 will also feature other exclusive premieres and programming, including the first episode of Hana-Kimi, offering fans a diverse range of new content.
The Manga’s Journey
The original Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You manga, written and illustrated by Haruka Mitsui, has been serialized in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi shōjo manga magazine since November 2020. As of August 2025, twelve tankōbon volumes have been released in Japan. Kodansha USA Publishing handles the English digital release of the manga, with print editions also available. The manga has achieved significant popularity, with over 1.25 million copies in circulation, including digital copies. The series has also inspired a stage play adaptation.
