A Deeper Dive into Crunchyroll’s New Acquisitions
The newly licensed anime span various genres, promising a diverse viewing experience for subscribers this fall. Many of these titles also had new trailers officially unveiled during the Anime NYC presentation.
Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!
This culinary fantasy series introduces Lady Melphiera, a noblewoman with an unconventional palate for monsters. Despite societal disapproval, her unique tastes lead her to the “Blood-Mad Duke,” a mysterious figure who might finally appreciate her monstrous appetite. The anime, animated by Asahi Production (known for Teogonia), is directed by Mutsumi Takeda (B-PROJECT PassionLove Call*) and is set to premiere in October 2025. The first half of its initial episode was offered as a sneak peek at Otakon, whetting the appetites of fans.
SI-VIS: The Sound of Heroes
Blending music and superhero action, SI-VIS: The Sound of Heroes centers on a co-ed music group led by YOSUKE. While they captivate global audiences with their performances, their concerts are secretly a means to generate combat power against mysterious threats to the world. Their true identities remain hidden as battles appear to the public as ordinary live shows. This original TV anime is slated for an October 2025 broadcast on Fuji TV and other networks.
The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest
Fans of magic and redemption stories can look forward to The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest. The series follows Alec Ygret, a loyal court magician who is exiled for his specialized support magic. However, his fortunes change when he reunites with Yorha Eisentz, a former comrade from the legendary party “Lasting Period,” and is invited to rejoin the team. The animation for this series is handled by Gekkou, known for My One-Hit Kill Sister. Its release is also scheduled for October 2025.
A Gatherer’s Adventure in Isekai
As the title suggests, this anime plunges viewers into an isekai adventure. Details surrounding the plot remain under wraps, but the series promises a journey for a “gatherer” in a fantastical new world. Production duties are shared between Tatsunoko Production (Neon Genesis Evangelion) and SynergySP (Solo Camping for Two). This series is also set to premiere in October 2025.
There was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her
This comedic fantasy series, based on a popular webcomic with over 700 million views, offers a romantic comedy set within the hero’s party. The anime adaptation features Yukie Sugawara (Overlord Seasons 1-4) handling series composition and scripts, with Tomonori Mine (Isekai Onsen Paradise) as director and Yasutaka Yamamoto (Medalist) as chief director. Animation is produced by Gekkou (My One-Hit Kill Sister). This title is expected to debut in 2026.
