A new video for the highly anticipated “Dark Moon: The Blood Altar” TV anime has revealed additional cast members and exciting details regarding its theme songs. The anime, based on the HYBE and ENHYPEN webtoon, is set to premiere in January 2026.
The latest update builds anticipation for the series, which is an urban fantasy teen romance deeply connected to the musical universe of the K-pop group ENHYPEN.
Expanding the Voice Cast for “Dark Moon: The Blood Altar”
The newly released video provides a closer look at the characters and the talented voice actors bringing them to life. The main cast announced includes:

- Shunichi Toki as Shion
- Chiaki Kobayashi as Noa

ENHYPEN to Perform Anime Theme Songs
Further exciting news for fans includes the revelation of the theme songs. The K-pop group ENHYPEN, whose musical universe inspired the webtoon, will perform the opening theme, “One in a Billion (Japanese ver.)”. While the specific ending theme was not detailed in the available information, the connection to ENHYPEN’s music is a core element of the series. The anime is structured to allow fans to enjoy the story alongside original soundtracks recorded by ENHYPEN.
Production and Release Information
“Dark Moon: The Blood Altar” is being animated by TROYCA, with Shōko Shiga directing the series. Tōko Machida is overseeing the series scripts, while Masami Inomata is responsible for character designs. The music composition is handled by Naoki “naotyu-” Chiba, and Takatoshi Hamano is directing the sound.
The anime adaptation of the HYBE webtoon is slated to debut on Japanese TV channels, including TOKYO MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV, on January 9, 2026, at 24:00 JST (effectively January 10, 2026, at 00:00). Globally, Crunchyroll will stream the series in numerous regions, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS. The series is planned for 12 episodes.
A special fan-only pre-screening is scheduled for December 28 at TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku in Tokyo, where attendees will be able to watch the first two episodes and enjoy a stage greeting featuring ENHYPEN members and six Japanese voice actors.
The Webtoon’s Journey to Animation
The “Dark Moon: The Blood Altar” webtoon, which features characters based on the members of ENHYPEN, launched in English in January 2022 and concluded its 71-chapter run in October 2023. The webtoon has garnered significant popularity, with over 200 million views. Ize Press is also releasing HYBE’s original novel in English in print.
