Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns, which premiered in Japan on July 18, 2025, by Aniplex and Toho, has continued its phenomenal performance. In its second weekend, July 25-27, the film earned 3.099 billion yen (approximately US$20.86 million) from 2.212 million admissions.
The movie has quickly shattered multiple box office records, becoming the fastest film in Japan to surpass the 10 billion yen mark, achieving this feat within eight days of its release. As of July 28, 2025, its 11th day, Infinity Castle had accumulated ¥13.55 billion (US$91.6 million) at the Japanese box office. By its 13th day, July 30, it had surged to a remarkable ¥14.67 billion (US$99 million), making it the highest-grossing film of 2025 in Japan so far. Gekijōban Utano☆Princesama♪ TABOO NIGHT XXXX (read as: TABOO NIGHT KISSES), the third concert film in the Uta no Prince-sama anime franchise, has risen to the #7 spot in its 12th weekend at the Japanese box office. The film, which features the senior idol group QUARTET NIGHT, opened in Japan on May 9, 2025.
In its 12th weekend (Friday to Sunday), the film earned 72,558,440 yen (about US$490,300). Its cumulative total earnings have reached 1,765,928,240 yen (about US$11.93 million) from 1.04 million tickets sold. The movie had previously debuted at #4 in its opening weekend and has remained in the top 10 for nine out of its twelve weekends in theaters. As of July 24, 2025, the film had already surpassed one million ticket sales in 77 days.
