The highly anticipated first film in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle trilogy has unveiled its latest trailer, confirming that renowned artists Aimer and LiSA will contribute the theme songs. This announcement, made following the re-airing of Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train on Fuji TV in Japan, has ignited excitement among fans globally as the franchise prepares for its most epic cinematic venture yet.

A Star-Studded Musical Collaboration

The trailer officially revealed that both Aimer and LiSA, who have previously delivered iconic songs for the Demon Slayer anime series, are returning to lend their voices to the Infinity Castle film. Aimer will perform the song “Taiyō ga Noboranai Sekai” (“A World Where the Sun Never Rises”), while LiSA will contribute “Zankoku no Yoru ni Kagayake” (“Shine in the Cruel Night”). Both tracks are set to be available on global streaming platforms starting July 18, 2025.

LiSA has been an integral part of the Demon Slayer phenomenon since its inception, with her electrifying opening theme “Gurenge” for the first season becoming a cultural sensation. She also performed the ending theme “From the Edge” and the award-winning song “Homura” for Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. Aimer made her memorable debut in the franchise by performing the opening theme “Zankyou Sanka” and ending theme “Asa ga Kuru” for the Entertainment District Arc, further cementing her connection to the series’ distinctive sound. The return of these two powerhouses signals a continuation of the franchise’s tradition of delivering emotionally resonant and impactful musical accompaniments.

The Epic Conclusion Begins: Infinity Castle Arc

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns is the inaugural film in a planned three-part cinematic trilogy designed to adapt the climactic “Infinity Castle” arc from Koyoharu Gotoge’s original manga. Unlike previous compilation films, this trilogy marks a full-length feature film adaptation, allowing for a comprehensive and dramatic portrayal of the manga’s intense final battles.

The film will plunge protagonist Tanjiro Kamado and the Demon Slayer Corps into the heart of the demons’ stronghold, the eponymous Infinity Castle, for what promises to be their most brutal confrontation yet against the demon king Muzan Kibutsuji. This arc is widely considered one of the darkest, most thrilling, and action-packed sections of the manga, promising an “unprecedented scale” of production from returning animation studio ufotable.

Haruo Sotozaki directs the film, with Akira Matsushima serving as Chief Animation Director and Character Designer. The atmospheric score will once again be crafted by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina.

Global Release and Anticipation

The first Infinity Castle film is scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 18, 2025. Following its Japanese debut, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute the movie internationally, with worldwide releases commencing in August 2025. Audiences in the United States and Canada can anticipate screenings beginning September 12, 2025. Other international territories will see staggered releases throughout August and September, including the UK, Indonesia, Philippines, Brazil, Mexico, UAE, India, and South Africa.

The movie will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub, and will be presented in IMAX and other premium large formats, aiming to replicate and potentially surpass the global success of the Mugen Train film, which grossed over $485 million worldwide even during the height of the pandemic. The anticipation for this trilogy is immense, as it promises to be the definitive animated culmination of Tanjiro’s arduous journey to defeat Muzan and restore his sister Nezuko to human form.
