‘Destiny’ Awaits: Clevatess Anime Reveals Ending Theme and More

The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Yuji Iwahara’s Clevatess: Majuu no Ou to Akago to Shikabane no Yuusha is generating buzz with the reveal of new details, including the ending theme song performed by none other than British pop sensation Ellie Goulding. A recently released video not only previews Goulding’s song, titled “Destiny,” but also unveils additional cast members and confirms the anime’s premiere date.

Premiere Date and Where to Watch

Mark your calendars! Clevatess is set to premiere on July 2, 2025, with the first episode being an hour-long special. The series will air on Tokyo MX and 27 other stations. For international viewers, Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime as it airs in Japan.

Ellie Goulding’s “Destiny”: A First for the Artist

Ellie Goulding, known for her chart-topping hits and unique voice, is lending her talent to the anime world for the first time. Her song “Destiny” will serve as the ending theme for Clevatess. In a video message, Goulding shared her excitement about the project, stating that she wrote a very special song called Destiny which features in the anime, Clevatess. She also added, ” I believe everyone is destined for great things in life, and I can’t wait to see what kind of stars are aligned for Allesia’s Destiny. I really hope you enjoy.” A snippet of “Destiny” is featured in the latest trailer, giving fans a taste of what’s to come.

Goulding’s career took off after she was voted number one in “BBC Sound of 2010,” a prestigious ranking of promising new artists in the United Kingdom. Her debut album, “Lights,” released in 2010, topped the UK album charts.

In addition to the ending theme reveal, the latest video also introduces several new cast members, further expanding the world of Clevatess.

What is Clevatess About?

Clevatess: Majuu no Ou to Akago to Shikabane no Yuusha is based on the manga series by Yuji Iwahara, known for his previous works such as King of Thorn and Dimension W. The manga began serialization on the LINE Manga web platform in August 2020 and is also available on Media Factory’s Comic Alive+ website since April 2024.

The story follows Alicia, a young woman who dreams of becoming a hero. She is chosen as one of 13 heroes to defeat Clevatess, the lord of magical beasts. However, the heroes’ actions inadvertently lead to a crisis that threatens to destroy all of humanity. The world’s last hope rests on a baby entrusted to Clevatess.

Crunchyroll summarizes the series as:

One of the Lords of Dark Beasts, Clevatess’s reign shatters when he revives a hero he personally slayed and adopts an orphaned humanoid baby—the last hope to save a dying world. Now bound together, what fate awaits this unlikely trio?

Production Team

The anime adaptation is being directed by Kiyotaka Taguchi at Lay-duce. Taguchi is known for his work on Ultraman Blazar and as a kaiju designer for SSSS.DYNAZENON. The series composition is being handled by Keigo Koyanagi (Brave Bang Bravern!), with Soichiro Sako (Buddy Daddies) designing the characters and Nobuaki Nobusawa (Mr. Villain’s Day Off) composing the music.
