Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation has officially wrapped up its first season, “Episode of Heartslabyul,” with its eighth and final episode airing on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The season finale delivered a thrilling conclusion to the Heartslabyul Dorm’s storyline, streaming exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.
Heartslabyul’s Dramatic Climax
The inaugural season of Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation focused on the “Episode of Heartslabyul” arc, adapting the popular mobile game’s narrative. The final episode saw Yuuken Enma, Ace, Deuce, Grim, and their allies Trey and Cater confront the rampaging magic of Riddle Rosehearts, the Housewarden of Heartslabyul. Riddle’s emotions reached a breaking point, causing his magic to spiral out of control and plunge the dorm into chaos. Despite being outmatched, the protagonists stood their ground, leading to a “rewarding and thrilling conclusion” that blended fantasy action with a sentimental resolution for Riddle. The finale particularly highlighted Riddle’s internal struggle with his traumatic childhood and his eventual realization that his desires differed from those imposed by his mother.
Production Details and Cast
The anime adaptation is a collaboration between Aniplex and Walt Disney Japan, with animation production handled by Yumeta Company and Graphinica. Shin Katagai directed the series, with Takahiro Natori serving as chief director and overseeing series scripts written by Yoichi Kato. Character designs were adapted by Hanaka Nakano and Akane Satō from Yana Toboso’s original game designs. The voice cast for the anime reprises their roles from the mobile game, including Natsuki Hanae as Riddle Rosehearts, Seiichirō Yamashita as Ace Trappola, Chiaki Kobayashi as Deuce Spade, and Yohei Azakami as the anime-exclusive protagonist, Yuuken Enma.
Looking Ahead: Seasons Two and Three Confirmed
While the “Episode of Heartslabyul” concludes, the story of Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation is far from over. Disney confirmed in November 2024 that the anime will run for three seasons in total. The upcoming seasons are slated to adapt further arcs from the original smartphone game’s accompanying manga.
“Episode of Savanaclaw” in Season 2
A post-credits scene in the season finale explicitly hinted at the next major storyline: the “Episode of Savanaclaw.” This confirms that Season 2 will focus on the dorm inspired by The Lion King‘s Scar, with characters like Leona Kingscholar, Jack Howl, and Ruggie Bucchi expected to take center stage. Season 2 is currently in production.
“Episode of Octavinelle” for Season 3
Following “Episode of Savanaclaw,” the third season is confirmed to adapt the “Episode of Octavinelle” arc, featuring characters inspired by The Little Mermaid‘s Ursula, such as Azul Ashengrotto, Jade Leech, and Floyd Leech.
The multi-season approach allows the anime to delve deeper into the rich narratives and diverse characters that have made the Twisted-Wonderland mobile game a global phenomenon. Fans can anticipate further adventures at Night Raven College as the series continues to explore the unique world inspired by classic Disney villains.
