The upcoming anime film Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland- has released a special music video for its theme song, “Zukan,” performed by the Japanese pop band SEKAI NO OWARI. The music video was produced by P.A. Works, the animation studio behind the film.
The film, which is a new theatrical anime inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classic novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, is slated to premiere in Japan on August 29, 2025. Directed by Toshiya Shinohara (The aquatope on white sand) and with a screenplay by Yuko Kakihara, the movie centers on a modern-day university student named Rise Azumino who finds herself in Wonderland after being guided by an invitation left by her late grandmother. There, she meets Alice, and together they embark on a journey encountering various iconic Wonderland characters.
SEKAI NO OWARI’s theme song “Zukan” was previously featured in the main trailer for the film, which was released on June 3, 2025. Saori, the pianist for SEKAI NO OWARI and lyricist for “Zukan,” shared that she wrote the lyrics imagining the protagonist’s struggles and aiming to make “days when you struggle and wonder why you can’t do well seem a little bit cuter.”
The voice cast for Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland- includes Nanoka Hara as Rise and Maika Pugh as Alice. Other notable cast members include Mayu Matsuoka as the Queen of Hearts, Koji Yamamoto as the Mad Hatter, Kappei Yamaguchi as the White Rabbit, and Toshiyuki Morikawa as the Cheshire Cat.
