The Dokodemo Makibao spinoff anime project commemorates the 30th anniversary of Tsunomaru’s original Midori no Makibao manga, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1994 to 1998. The original manga captivated audiences with its blend of comedy and sports drama, chronicling the journey of Makibao, a small, donkey-like racehorse who defies expectations to become a champion known as the “White Miracle.” The franchise also inspired subsequent manga series, Taiyo no Makibao and Taiyo no Makibao W. The initial Dokodemo Makibao short anime debuted on December 16, 2024, as part of the “Sukima no Anime” short anime distribution project by KDDI and DLE. This second season continues the celebration of the beloved series.
