Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry platform has published the final chapter of Kyoichi Nanatsuki and Mogi Yomogi’s Dragon Bugyō (Dragon Magistrate) manga on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The series, which follows the adventures of Kiryu Uemon, first debuted on the platform in June 2024.
The Story of Dragon Bugyō
Dragon Bugyō centers on Kiryu Uemon, a man disowned by his father who has been living as a vagrant. Despite their strained relationship, he is called back home and given a crucial mission by the eighth-generation shogun, Yoshimune. This mission involves transporting a mysterious item from Nagasaki to Edo, setting off a tumultuous journey as various interests collide.
Creative Minds Behind Dragon Bugyō
The manga was a collaborative effort between Kyoichi Nanatsuki, who handled the story, and Mogi Yomogi, responsible for the artwork. Nanatsuki is also known for his work on the Project ARMS manga, which ran in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1997 to 2002 and inspired a 26-episode television anime series. Viz Media released the 22-volume Project ARMS manga in English. Nanatsuki also launched the Tsukimonogakari manga in Sunday Webry in October 2022, which concluded in January 2025.
