The upcoming anime series, Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter, has announced that Miho Okasaki will be joining the cast as Lynne Leinster. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan in July 2025.
Miho Okasaki: Double Duty
Miho Okasaki, known for her role as Mary Hunt in My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, will not only be voicing Lynne Leinster but also performing the anime’s ending theme song, “Shojo no Susume.” This announcement follows the reveal of the Karen VA and marks another exciting update for fans eagerly awaiting the series.

Lynne Leinster is the younger sister of Lydia and the second daughter of the Leinster family.

Okasaki’s “Shojo no Susume” will be the ending theme, while Ami Maeshima will perform the opening theme, “Wish for you.”

Story
Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter is based on the light novel series written by Riku Nanano and illustrated by cura. The series began as a web novel on Kakuyomu in October 2017 and was later published by Kadokawa under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint in December 2018. As of January 2025, the light novel series has 18 volumes.
Synopsis
Allen, a promising young sorcerer, fails his final exam for his dream job at the royal court and finds himself unable to even afford the train fare back home. Desperate for work, he takes a job as a private tutor for Tina, the daughter of Duke Howard. Despite her academic brilliance, Tina is unable to cast even a single spell, and the Royal Academy entrance exams are fast approaching, requiring magical aptitude. Allen must use his unique spellcasting abilities to help Tina overcome her magical impairment.
Manga Adaptation
The light novel series also inspired a manga adaptation by Tamura Muto, which began serialization in Shonen Ace Plus in September 2019. As of February 2024, the manga has four tankobon volumes.
English Release
J-Novel Club has licensed both the light novel and manga series in English.
Additional Cast
New cast members and characters are being revealed weekly, beginning on April 6, 2025, with Kana Hanazawa recently announced as Felicia Fosse.
