A sequel to the popular short anime series “Everyday Host,” based on Nimo Gotō’s four-panel gag manga, has been officially greenlit. The announcement was made during a fan appreciation festival event for the series held on Saturday, though specifics regarding the format or medium of the sequel were not immediately disclosed.
Continuation of the Host Club Saga
The “Everyday Host” anime centers on Koichi, a former salaryman who unexpectedly finds himself working at a host club called “Club One.” The series showcases his daily life alongside a colorful cast of quirky co-workers, including a “younger-brother” type host with two decades of experience, a former idol, and a social-game-obsessed host, among others. The original manga, a surreal gag comedy, was first serialized online before being acquired by Kadokawa Shoten.
Production and Original Broadcast
The first “Everyday Host” short anime premiered on April 4, 2025, on TV Tokyo and BS NTV, running for two consecutive cours (quarters of the year). Rarecho, known for directing “Aggretsuko,” helmed the series and also penned the script, with FANWORKS handling the animation production. The theme song, “Everyday Host,” was performed by the EbuHosu Players, a group comprising the main voice actors.
Voice Cast and Characters
The ensemble cast brought to life the vibrant personalities of Club One. Hiro Shimono starred as Koichi, with Taku Yashiro as Hajime, Tasuku Hatanaka as Ryoichi, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Senichi. Later in the series, three additional cast members were introduced as top-ranked hosts from Club Trillion: Yuichiro Umehara as Rui, Kotaro Nishiyama as Shin, and Kohei Amasaki as Mio.
What to Expect from the “New Everyday Host Series”
While the specific details of the sequel remain under wraps, Nimo Gotō, the original manga creator, expressed anticipation for a “new Everyday Host series.” This suggests a potential continuation of the comedic slice-of-life adventures within the host club setting, likely revisiting the established characters and introducing new scenarios and challenges for Koichi and his colleagues. Fans are eager to see if the sequel will further explore the dynamics of Club One, delve deeper into the backstories of its eccentric staff, or introduce new rivals and patrons to shake things up. The expansion could come in the form of additional short episodes, a longer-format series, or even an original net animation (ONA).
The announcement of a sequel so soon after the conclusion of the initial run highlights the positive reception and growing popularity of the “Everyday Host” anime. Further details regarding the sequel’s production, release schedule, and format are expected to be announced in the coming months.
