The manga adaptation of Formerly, the Fallen Daughter of the Duke has commenced a hiatus as its creator, Ushio Shirotori, recovers from the birth of her second child. Shirotori announced the pause in serialization via her X/Twitter account last Saturday. She anticipates a return to health and the manga’s resumption by winter.
This manga, based on Saki Ichibu’s light novels, launched on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi website in September 2020. The seventh compiled book volume was published on April 15, with Tokyopop releasing the sixth English volume on June 10.
The series follows Claire Martino, a young woman who loses everything, including her engagement to a crown prince and her family’s magic, due to her half-sister. Scorned as a villainess, Claire embarks on a journey of self-discovery, only to realize her life eerily mirrors the plot of an otome game.
