The highly anticipated “Fate/Strange Fake” television anime series has officially been delayed, with its premiere now set for January 3, 2026. Aniplex made the announcement during the Aniplex Online Fest event, where they also unveiled a new promotional video, a fresh key visual, and details about the opening theme song artist.
The series, which follows the events of the “Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn-” special that aired in July 2023, has experienced production issues that led to this postponement.
New Release Date and Production Status
Originally, the first episode of the “Fate/Strange Fake” TV anime series had a preview broadcast on December 31, 2024, as part of the Fate Project New Year’s Eve TV Special. However, the full series will now begin its regular broadcast in early 2026. The delay marks a further extension for a production that has faced previous postponements; the “Whispers of Dawn” special itself was initially slated for December 31, 2022, before also being delayed due to “unavoidable production circumstances.” This latest shift indicates the production committee’s commitment to ensuring a high-quality adaptation, with A-1 Pictures handling the animation.
Unveiling New Visuals and Promotional Video
Alongside the new January 2026 premiere date, Aniplex released a new promotional video that offers fans a deeper look into the world of Snowfield’s False Holy Grail War. The trailer features the opening song “PROVANT,” giving viewers a taste of the anime’s auditory landscape. A new key visual was also revealed, further building anticipation for the series by showcasing key characters and the intricate setting. Character visuals for Sigma and Flat Escardos, along with the Servant Berserker, were previously unveiled at AnimeJapan 2025.
