The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Kei Urana’s Gachiakuta manga has unveiled a new promotional video, offering a sneak peek into the series’ second half. The video confirms additional cast members and announces the opening and ending theme songs for the upcoming cour, which is set to premiere on October 12.
The Gachiakuta anime, produced by Bones Film, began airing in July 2025 and was previously confirmed to run for two consecutive cours, totaling 24 episodes. It streams internationally on Crunchyroll.
New Voices Join the Cast for the Second Half
Several new voice actors have been added to the Gachiakuta anime’s roster, bringing key characters from Kei Urana’s original manga to life. The newly announced cast members include:
- Maria Naganawa as Guita
- Mutsumi Tamura as Noerde
- Hiro Shimono as Fu
- Akio Ōtsuka as Bundus
These actors join an already extensive cast, including Aoi Ichikawa as protagonist Rudo, Katsuyuki Konishi as Enjin, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Zanka. The anime is lauded for its “sharp combination of fantasy thrills and dark social commentary,” focusing on Rudo’s journey after being falsely accused of murder and cast into “The Pit.”
Theme Songs Set the Tone for Continuing Battle
The second cour will feature new musical themes that aim to encapsulate the series’ “volatile rage and righteous fury.”
Opening Theme: “Let’s Just Crash” by Mori Calliope
The new opening theme, titled “Let’s Just Crash,” will be performed by popular VTuber and artist Mori Calliope. Calliope, a known fan of the Gachiakuta manga, expressed her excitement about contributing to the anime, stating that the song embodies Rudo’s descent into The Pit and his fight for justice. A sample of the song can be heard in the recently released trailer.
Ending Theme: “Ban” by Karanoah
For the new ending theme, the track “Ban” will be performed by Karanoah. This new song will follow the first cour’s ending theme, “Tomoshibi” by DUSTCELL.
Gachiakuta’s Ongoing Narrative and Production
The Gachiakuta anime continues to be directed by Fumihiko Suganuma at Studio Bones (specifically Bones Film). Hiroshi Seko handles series composition, while Satoshi Ishino is responsible for character design and serves as chief animation director. Taku Iwasaki composes the anime’s music.
The series adapts Kei Urana’s manga, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in February 2022. The story follows Rudo, an orphaned “Tribesfolk” from the slums of a floating city called “The Sphere,” who is thrown into the garbage-filled abyss known as “The Pit” after being framed for murder. There, he joins a group called “Cleaners” who battle monstrous creatures born from trash and seeks revenge against those who wronged him.
Gachiakuta is streaming on Crunchyroll in various regions, with new episodes releasing weekly. While the first cour featured same-day English dubs, the English dub for Cour 2 is expected to be delayed by two weeks, with Episode 14’s dub scheduled for release on October 26.
