Crunchyroll has expanded its anime catalog with the addition of Gate Keepers, a 24-episode anime series that originally aired in 2000. The series is now available to stream on Crunchyroll in Japanese with English subtitles.

A Blast From the Past: What is Gate Keepers?

Gate Keepers is an action-packed anime set in 1969 Japan. In this world, certain individuals known as “Gate Keepers” possess the ability to open dimensional gates, granting them extraordinary superpowers. The story follows Shun Ukiya, a young man who discovers his own Gate Keeper abilities when mysterious invaders threaten his home.

Production

Storyline

The series unfolds as Shun joins forces with other Gate Keepers to defend Earth against the Invaders. These battles lead them to discover more about their powers and the origins of the enemy they face.

Where to Watch

All 24 episodes of Gate Keepers are now available for streaming on Crunchyroll.

More Details

Gate Keepers first appeared as a visual novel for PlayStation in 1999. Subsequently, it inspired a manga series by Keiji Gotō and Hiroshi Yamaguchi that same year.
