Exploring the World of “Bâan -The Boundaries of Adulthood-“
“Bâan -The Boundaries of Adulthood-” (Japanese: “Bâan – Otona no Kyōkai-“) is an 18-minute fantasy short film that delves into themes of belonging and self-discovery. The narrative centers on two protagonists, Arai Daichi and Rinrada Ratchamanee, as they embark on journeys to find a place where they truly belong.
A Tale of Two Worlds: Japan and Euthania
The story unfolds across two interconnected worlds: modern-day Japan and the fictional realm of Euthania. Euthania is depicted as a vibrant land rich in nature, populated by various magical races inspired by Southeast Asian and Thai mythology. These two distinct worlds are linked by a mysterious warp gate.
Daichi, a 21-year-old from Japan grappling with family conflicts, seeks escape in Euthania. Conversely, Rinrada, a 19-year-old Euthanian, leaves her village with a strong desire for independence, setting out to connect with Japan. While Euthania boasts a peaceful climate and diverse fantasy races, it also harbors threats such as large monsters.
