About GINTAMA – Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class
The anime is an adaptation of Tomohito Ōsaki’s spinoff novel series, 3-Nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi-Sensei, which itself is based on Hideaki Sorachi’s hugely popular Gintama manga. The premise reimagines the eccentric protagonist Gintoki Sakata as a chaotic high school teacher, Ginpachi-sensei, who leads an equally bizarre class of students. The series is expected to deliver the same irreverent humor and unpredictable antics that defined the original Gintama franchise. The concept of 3-Nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi-Sensei was previously animated as shorts at the end of several Gintama anime episodes.
