The Intriguing Premise of Gnosia
The Gnosia anime is based on the award-winning social deduction RPG developed by Petit Depotto. The game, initially released for PlayStation Vita in 2019, has since been ported to Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
A Deadly Game of Deduction in Space
The story of Gnosia is set aboard a drifting spaceship where the crew faces a mysterious and deadly threat: the “Gnosia.” These inhuman monsters pretend to be human, eliminating crew members one by one. The crew’s desperate plan for survival involves identifying the Gnosia among them and putting the most suspicious individuals into “cold sleep.” The single-player game incorporates a time-loop structure, where the player and NPCs must deduce who is Gnosia. The player can also be Gnosia in some loops.
Production Team and Release Window
Kazuya Ichikawa (known for The World Ends with You: The Animation) is directing the Gnosia anime at studio Domerica. Jukki Hanada (Steins;Gate) is handling the series composition and scripts, while Arisa Matsuura is adapting Kotori’s original character designs for animation. Hideyuki Fukasawa (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works) is composing the music for the series.
The Gnosia anime is slated to begin airing in October 2025.
