The upcoming anime series, Harmony of Mille-Feuille (also known as Utagoe wa Mille-Feuille), has announced new additions to its cast, including Iori Saeki, Mayumi Shintani, and Kaori Nazuka. The anime is set to premiere on July 17, 2025, in Japan.
The Harmony of Mille-Feuille project is a music-themed mixed-media initiative by Pony Canyon and Takuya Yamanaka, which began in April 2022. It focuses on themes of a cappella singing, high school girls, and complex emotions, with the story revolving around six high school girls maturing through a cappella music. The project has previously released music singles, voice drama adaptations, music videos, and documentary videos featuring singing lessons.
The anime adaptation is produced by Jumondou, with Kiyoto Nakajima directing and Takuya Satō serving as chief director. Takuya Yamanaka is responsible for the series scripts, while Chisato Kikunaga and Hitomi Kaiho are handling character designs. Shun Narita is composing the music. The main theme song, “Omoidebanashi” (Nostalgic Talk), is performed by the main cast.
Iori Saeki is a Japanese voice actress and singer affiliated with Swallow. She is known for roles such as King Halo in Uma Musume Pretty Derby, Vanilla in Nekopara, and Menou in The Executioner and Her Way of Life. Saeki’s career began in 2012 as a dōjin musician under the stage name NU-KO, and she started her voice acting activities in 2018.
Mayumi Shintani is a Japanese actress and voice actress known for her distinctive voice. Her notable roles include Haruko Haruhara in FLCL, Nonon Jakuzure in Kill la Kill, and Angel in The King of Fighters series.
Kaori Nazuka is a Japanese actress and singer. She has voiced characters such as Eureka in Eureka Seven, Nunnally Lamperouge in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and Miyu Edelfelt in the Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya series. Nazuka announced her marriage in February 2011 and has three daughters.
The anime’s story follows Uta Komaki, a first-year high school student who loves to sing but struggles with timidity. After failing to join the light music club, she discovers a cappella music and finds a group of girls whose imperfect youths are interwoven through their harmonized voices. Other previously announced main cast members include Mirai Ayase as Uta Komaki, Yuko Natsuyoshi as Musubu Mayumori, Kanoko Sudo as Airi Kojo, Misato Matsuoka as Rei Konoe, Miharu Hanai as Uruu Miyazaki, and Haruka Aikawa as Yako Kumai.
