About Let This Grieving Soul Retire!
Based on the popular light novel series written by Tsukikage and illustrated by Chyko, Let This Grieving Soul Retire! (Japanese title: Nageki no Bōrei wa Intai Shitai: Saijaku Hunter ni Yoru Saikyō Party Ikusei-jutsu) delves into a world of treasure hunters. The story follows Krai Andrey, the supposed leader of the elite “Grieving Souls” party, comprised of six childhood friends. Despite his reputation for possessing a wide array of skills, Krai secretly lacks any special talent and is, in fact, a self-proclaimed weakling. His achievements are largely a result of his overpowered friends. Krai’s constant desire is to retire from the dangerous life of a treasure hunter, fearing his incompetence will lead to his companions’ downfall. However, his friends and those around him mistakenly believe in his genius, forcing him to remain their reluctant leader.
The series began as a web novel in January 2018 before being officially published as a light novel by Micro Magazine. A manga adaptation by Rai Hebino also began serialization in April 2019.
