Acclaimed manga artist Hiroyuki Nishimori and artist Mifumi Inaba are set to launch a new manga series titled Itsuka Uchū Kara (One Day from Space) in Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine on December 12. The series will debut with a color opening page and is a revival of Nishimori’s earlier work, Itsuka Sora Kara (One Day from the Sky), which had an irregular serialization beginning in 2010.
The Return of Itsuka Sora Kara as Itsuka Uchū Kara
The upcoming manga, Itsuka Uchū Kara, reimagines Nishimori’s 2010 series, Itsuka Sora Kara, which was published in Monthly Shonen Sunday but was ultimately discontinued after two chapters. This new iteration sees Nishimori credited for the story, while Mifumi Inaba takes on the art. The revival with a new artist suggests a fresh take on the original concept, offering both long-time fans and new readers an opportunity to engage with Nishimori’s storytelling in a new visual style.
Plot Details of Itsuka Uchū Kara
The story of Itsuka Uchū Kara centers on Yūki Nakagawa, a high school boy who enjoys considerable popularity. His seemingly normal life takes an unexpected turn on his 17th birthday when his father reveals that Yūki is, in fact, an alien. Initially disbelieving, Yūki soon awakens to a mysterious new power, setting the stage for a narrative blending everyday high school life with supernatural elements and potential sci-fi themes.
