The popular fantasy adventure anime, I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths! (A-Rank Party o Ridatsu Shita Ore wa, Moto Oshiego-tachi to Meikyū Shinbu o Mezasu.), has officially announced that it will receive a second season. The news broke shortly after the broadcast of its 24th and final episode, which aired on June 29, 2025, in Japan. This swift announcement comes as a welcome development for fans who have followed protagonist Yuke Feldio’s journey with his new, promising party.

The Journey So Far: A Red Mage’s Redemption

The first season of I Left My A-Rank Party debuted on January 12, 2025, and ran for two consecutive cours, totaling 24 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series worldwide, offering both subtitled and English-dubbed versions, making it accessible to a global audience.

The anime is based on the light novel series written by Kosuke Unagi and illustrated by Super Zombie. The light novel series concluded on February 28, 2025, with a total of five volumes published by Kodansha under its K Ranobe Books label. A manga adaptation by Yuri has also been ongoing since June 2021, with Kodansha USA releasing the manga digitally in North America.

Synopsis of the First Season

The narrative centers around Yuke Feldio, a “lowly” red mage who, after five years of enduring insults and ridicule from his A-rank party, Thunder Pike, decides to part ways with them. Frustrated by being relegated to a thankless support role, Yuke embarks on a quest to find a new party. Serendipitously, he encounters three of his former students—Marina, Silk, and Rain—and decides to join their budding party, “Clover.”

Under Yuke’s guidance, the girls’ latent abilities are brought to the forefront as he utilizes his extraordinary magic and skills to lead them through various quests. As their reputation grows, partly thanks to an “adventure broadcast” via an artifact known as Camelot, Clover becomes widely recognized. The party’s ultimate ambition is to conquer Achromatic Darkness, the world’s most challenging dungeon. However, their journey through other dungeons inadvertently embroils them in larger conflicts that threaten the entire world. The first season covered Yuke and Clover’s initial adventures, showcasing their growth and the challenges they faced as they climbed the ranks.

Production Details and Key Personnel

The first season was animated by BN Pictures, a studio known for its dynamic action sequences. Katsumi Ono (known for Hypnosismic –Division Rap Battle– Rhyme Anima and Symphogear) directed the series. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Shangri-la Frontier, Do It Yourself!!) was responsible for the series composition and scriptwriting. Character designs were handled by Masakazu Yamazaki (Birdie Wing -Golf Girls’ Story- co-sub character designer), who also served as a chief animation director alongside Akira Takahashi, Yumiko Hara, and Ippei Ichii. Go Sakabe (Digimon Adventure tri film series, Date A Live) composed the captivating musical score.

The main Japanese voice cast includes:

  • Hiromu Mineta as Yuke
  • Hana Inami as Marina
  • Natsumi Kawaida as Silk
  • Nene Hieda as Rain
  • Maria Sashide as Nene
  • M.A.O as Jamie

The English dub featured a talented cast, including Drew Breedlove as Yuke, Lindsay Seidel as Marina, and Bryn Apprill as Rain, among others.

What to Expect from Season 2

While specific plot details for the second season remain under wraps, the renewal strongly suggests that the anime will continue to adapt the remaining content from Kosuke Unagi’s completed light novel series. Given the first season’s two-cour run and the light novel’s five-volume completion, fans can anticipate further exploration of Clover’s journey to conquer Achromatic Darkness and their entanglement in world-threatening chaos.

Character designer Masakazu Yamazaki shared a special illustration to commemorate the second season announcement, hinting at continued visual fidelity. While there’s no confirmed release date or window for I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths! Season 2, the rapid announcement after the finale indicates that production may already be underway. The return of the core staff, including director Katsumi Ono, scriptwriter Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, and composer Go Sakabe, is yet to be officially confirmed, but is generally expected for smooth continuity.

Fans eager to re-experience Yuke’s journey or catch up before the new season arrives can find the first season streaming on Crunchyroll. The anime has been lauded as a “hidden gem” of 2025, offering a unique blend of adventure, fantasy, and character development that sets it apart in the crowded Isekai-adjacent genre. The announcement of a second season promises more exciting adventures and deeper character exploration for Yuke and his former students as they strive to reach the dungeon depths and beyond.
