The television anime series I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths! has been officially renewed for a second season. The announcement came shortly after the broadcast of its 24th and final episode of the first season on June 29, 2025.
Series Background and First Season
The anime, produced by BN Pictures and directed by Katsumi Ono, premiered in Japan on January 11, 2025, and ran for two consecutive cours. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired, including an English dub. The series is based on the light novel written by Kosuke Unagi and illustrated by Super Zombie, which concluded its publication in February 2025 with five volumes. A manga adaptation by Yuri also began in June 2021, with Kodansha USA releasing the English digital version.
The story follows Yuke, a “lowly” red mage, who leaves his A-rank party after growing tired of being unappreciated. He then forms a new party with his former students—Marina, Silk, and Rain—and helps them reach their full potential while also discovering his own extraordinary magic and skills. The party’s ultimate goal is to conquer the challenging Achromatic Darkness dungeon.
Season 2 Outlook
While details regarding the release date and specific plot points for the second season are yet to be fully revealed, the confirmation of its production has been met with excitement from fans. An illustration by character designer Masakazu Yamazaki was shared on the show’s official Twitter/X account to celebrate the news.
It’s important to note that a separate anime titled Solo Leveling, also known as Ore dake Level Up na Ken, has a second season titled Ore dake Level Up na Ken Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-, which began airing in January 2025. However, this is a distinct series from I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths! despite the similar theme of leveling up.
