The upcoming television anime adaptation of Umikaze Minamino’s fantasy light novel series, Kunon the Sorcerer Can See Through (Majutsu-shi Kunon wa Mieteiru), has officially announced that Isekaijoucho will perform its opening theme song. Titled “Rakenaria no Yume” (Dream of Rakenaria), the song will debut when the highly anticipated series premieres in January 2026.

Kunon the Sorcerer Can See Through follows Kunon Gurion, a blind young man with an extraordinary ambition: to use water magic to create new eyes for himself. After only five months of study, he surpasses his mentor, developing talents that allow him to perceive colors, conjure items, and even create a lifelike cat from water. His remarkable skills quickly reach the royal court, earning him a discipleship under the most powerful magician in the land. The series explores whether Kunon’s ultimate goal is truly attainable.
Key Staff and Production Studio
The anime adaptation is being produced by Platinum Vision, a studio known for its work on various animated series. Hideaki Ōba, recognized for his direction in Love of Kill and I’m in Love with the Villainess, is helming the project as director. The series composition and script supervision are handled by Yuki Enatsu. Shunsuke Takizawa (TRYTONELABO) is composing the music, aiming to create an immersive auditory experience for Kunon’s magical world. Character designs are attributed to Yōko Satō and Toshimitsu Kobayashi.

Origins in Light Novels and Manga
The anime is based on Umikaze Minamino’s light novel series, which originally began serialization on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in August 2021. Kadokawa later began publishing the compiled novel volumes with illustrations by Laruha in March 2022. A manga adaptation, illustrated by La-na, also began serialization in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Alive magazine in April 2022. Yen Press is publishing the novel series in English, allowing a broader audience to follow Kunon’s extraordinary journey.
