The Story of Orn Dura: From Exile to Ultimate All-Rounder
The fantasy narrative of ‘Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None’ centers on Orn Dura, a skilled swordsman who initially adapted his abilities to become a mage, developing unique magic to support his “Hero’s Party.” However, his childhood friend and party leader, Oliver, cruelly casts him out, labeling him a “jack of all trades but master of none” due to a perceived lack of specialized ability. The party quickly finds a successor, leaving Orn disheartened and alone.
Despite the setback, Orn embarks on a solo adventure as an explorer, determined to prove his worth. His journey leads to unexpected encounters and new allies, dramatically changing his fate. To protect those who become important to him, Orn resolves to hone his versatile skills, aiming to become the “ultimate all-rounder.” The series explores his comeback arc, showcasing how his diverse skillset, once a point of mockery, ultimately makes him stronger than anyone expected.
Production Team and Theme Song
The anime is being directed by Hiroyuki Kanbe, known for his work on Oreimo and Viper’s Creed, at “animation studio42.” Masashi Suzuki (Lord of Vermilion: The Crimson King) is in charge of series scripts, and Naoto Nakamura (Date A Live IV) is handling character designs. Tsubasa Handa is composing the music. The opening theme song, “Sylve,” will be performed by hololive VTuber Tokoyami Towa.
The original story, written by Itsuki Togami, began serialization on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in February 2021 and is still ongoing. Kodansha later began publishing the light novels in print, with a manga adaptation by Yonezou also in circulation. With over 3.8 million copies in circulation, the series has a dedicated fanbase eagerly awaiting its animated debut.
