Kadokawa has announced a fresh wave of English manga releases set to hit shelves in September, including the highly anticipated titles “The Level 999 Villager,” “I Died at Your Behest,” and “Hot Nights at the Hot Springs, Secret Trip No. 241.” These new additions promise a diverse range of genres for manga enthusiasts.
Diverse Stories Join Kadokawa’s English Catalog
The upcoming releases highlight Kadokawa’s continued expansion into the English-language manga market, bringing popular Japanese series to a wider international audience. The selection spans fantasy, slice-of-life, and potentially other genres, catering to varied reader preferences.
“The Level 999 Villager” Set for September 13 Release
One of the standout titles is The Level 999 Villager (Lv999 no Murabito), which will be released on September 13. This fantasy manga is based on a light novel series and features art by Kenichi Iwamoto, story by Koneko Hoshitsuki, and character designs by fuumi.
The story is set in Hexaldoria, an island country once known as Japan, where monsters suddenly appeared, rapidly making 80% of the world uninhabitable. Along with the monsters, people were bestowed “Classes” at birth, dictating their lives. While there are powerful classes like FIGHTER, HUNTER, CLERIC, WARRIOR, MAGE, MERCHANT, THIEF, and special ORACLE classes like KING, SAGE, and HERO, the weakest is the VILLAGER. The narrative centers on Kouji Kagami, who, despite being a villager, astonishingly reaches “LEVEL 999,” a feat previously unheard of.
“Hot Nights at the Hot Springs, Secret Trip No. 241” Arrives September 5
Another notable release arriving earlier, on September 5, is Hot Nights at the Hot Springs, Secret Trip No. 241 (Onsen de Himitsu no Otomari, Nihyakuyonjuuikkaime) by creator Sonoo Michiru. This slice-of-life manga follows Ishida and Kimura, a mature couple who have been secretly seeing each other for twenty years, meeting once a month for relaxing trips to hotels or ryokans with hot spring baths. Their relationship remains a secret, even from close friends. The manga captures their 241st tranquil getaway, highlighting their quiet enjoyment of hot baths and good food.
“I Died at Your Behest” Also Announced
Kadokawa has also confirmed the release of I Died at Your Behest in English this September. While specific details regarding its creator and plot summary were not immediately available in the announcement, its inclusion indicates another intriguing title joining Kadokawa’s fall lineup. Fans can anticipate further information about this title as its release date approaches.
These new English manga releases underscore Kadokawa’s commitment to delivering a rich and varied selection of stories to its global readership.
